St Patrick’s was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1925. We strive to foster and encourage the Mercy values of: Compassion; Justice; Hospitality; Service; Respect; Courage
The founding Sisters of Mercy were known as the “walking nuns” and this inspires us to see and meet local needs and is why the School offers a variety of outreach experiences such as:
These personal interactions encourage the students to “walk with others” in genuine exchanges of friendliness, kindness and joy. In this small way our students follow in the footsteps of Jesus and Catherine McCauley in expressing God’s mercy
Throughout the school year, we participate in many events to build stronger relationships with our parish as well as celebrating our humble beginnings. St Patrick’s Feast Day, the birthday of Catherine McCauley are two such special occasions.
Here at St Patrick’s, we have strong ties with our history and our parish as we continue to develop our school as part of the community of Mitchell, and to ensure St Patrick’s remains a source of faith and life for our families.
